This Certificate course provides training in obtaining blood specimens by venipuncture and micro-collection techniques. The Phlebotomy Technician is a short duration skill based training course, with an objective to develop a pool of trained workforce which can be employed by diagnostic/healthcare service providers to assist medical laboratory technologist/pathologist. This course focuses on the acquisition of skills necessary to draw quality blood samples from patients, storage & transport to laboratory for medical testing. Phlebotomy technicians are important members of the health care team and often need to explain the blood-drawing procedure and put patients at ease.
Holistic teaching method (blended learning) characterized by its focus approach, stressing the importance of scenario based practice with the help of latest tools and techniques. There will be comprehensive lab work requiring demonstrated competency to receive a satisfactory grade.
